About David Kusiel
Moving to Atlanta in 1980 to attend Emory University was a pivotal time in David Kusiel’s life. At Emory, he actively participated in AEPi Fraternity and played a vital role in Emory’s nationally ranked tennis team. Emory was also where he met Jennifer, the love of his life. In his senior year, he became involved with the JCC, coaching Jennifer’s younger sister’s basketball team.
His connection to the Atlanta Jewish Community Center continued after graduation, engaging in sports leagues and later enrolling his children in the JCC preschool at the former East Cobb campus. David continued his involvement by coaching, serving on the Advisory Board, and ultimately joining the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta Board of Directors. While serving, he chaired development and has chaired and co-chaired the MJCCA Harry Maziar Classic golf tournament multiple times.
Professionally, after earning a BBA in Accounting from Emory, David spent nearly five years as a CPA at Touche Ross before transitioning into the wealth management industry. With over 30 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, he collaborates with his business partner of 20+ years, Jeffrey Lapp, as part of Paragon Wealth Management at UBS, where they assist families with their financial needs and goals.
Beyond his MJCCA volunteer work, David supports various philanthropic organizations. He served on the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Emory University’s Goizueta Business School Alumni Board, and the Standard Club.
Married for 38 years to Jennifer, the couple have two children, Lindsey (Corey) Aitken and Justin, and two grandchildren, Owen and Demi. They are members of Temple Sinai. In his leisure time, David enjoys golf, tennis, travel, and cherishes moments at their Hilton Head happy place.
